Arterium Corporation upgrades paediatric operating rooms in Lviv

Arterium Corporation has helped modernize two paediatric operating rooms in the Western-Ukrainian Specialized Children’s Medical Centre—new automatic doors have been installed there to increase compliance with European guidelines. About 1,300 operations were performed on children and infants in these operation rooms over the past year, and a series of bone marrow transplantations are slated to happen there soon, for which sterility and airtightness are especially important. The Centre’s surgeon team and little patients’ parents expressed gratitude to Arterium Corporation for the donation. During the meeting on the occasion of project completion, Ihor Lukavetskyi, Chief Paediatric Surgeon with the Medical Centre’s Surgery Department, explained: “The door will facilitate access to the operating room for the surgeon that has prepared to operate. He washes his hands, pushes the button with his elbow, and the door opens for him to enter. And he can do it all by himself. It’s a major upgrade for us. The European operating room design guidelines present a set of requirements as to airtightness and sterility of the operating room’s surgeon entrance and exit. And the door is made of a special material, which is important too. Owing to Arterium Corporation’s help, our hospital now has got an opportunity to upgrade its equipment.”

Also involved in the upgrade was Green Family—an NGO supporting children- and healthcare-related projects.
