Treatment of infections caused by meropenem-susceptible bacteria: pneumonia, including nosocomial pneumonia; urinary tract infection; intra-abdominal infection; gynecological infections such as endometritis; infection of skin and soft tissues; meningitis; septicemia; empirical treatment for suspected bacterial infection in adults with febrile neutropenia, as a monotherapy or in combination with antiviral or antifungal drugs. Mepenam is used as a monotherapy or in combination with other antimicrobial agents for the treatment of polymicrobial infections (such as cystic fibrosis, chronic lower respiratory tract infections).
