Treatment of infections causes by microorganisms, which are sensitive to clarithromycin: infections of the upper respiratory tract, i.e. nose and throat (tonsillitis, pharyngitis) and infections of the sinuses; lower respiratory tract infections (e.g. bronchitis, acute lobar pneumonia, primary atypical pneumonia); infections of the skin and soft tissues (such as impetigo, folliculitis, erysipeloid, abrasions, infected wounds); acute and chromin odontogenic infection; disseminated or localized mycobacterial infections caused by Mycobacterium avium and Mycobacteriym intracellulare. Localized infection caused by Mycobacterium chelonae, Mycobacterium fortuitum and Mycobacterium kansasii; eradication of H. pylori in patients with duodenal ulcer in inhibition of acid secretion (clarithromycin activity against H. pylori at neutral pH is higher than acidic pH).
