Impaired function of the parathyroid glands (spasmophilia, tetany), intensive calcium loss (particularly associated with long-lasting immobility), allergic diseases (angioneurotic edema, urticaria, hay fever, serum disease, etc.), including drug-induced; to reduce vascular wall permeability (radiation disease, hemorrhagic vasculitis); pleurisy, pneumonias, endometritis, adnexitis, skin diseases (psoriasis, eczema, pruritus); toxic liver damage, parenchymatous hepatitis, nephritis; eclampsia; paroxysmal myoplegia (hyperkalemic form). External and internal bleedings; as an antidote to poisoning with oxalic acid and its salts, with soluble salts of fluoric acid, and magnesium salts. It is used in combination with other drugs for induction of labor, for combined therapy (concurrently with anti-allergic agents) of allergies.
