Arterium supported Stroke and Cerebrovascular Disorders Congress
Arterium has become a title sponsor for the opening ceremony at the Third National Congress with International Participation “Stroke and Cerebrovascular Disorders” held in early November in Kyiv. The Congress was held by the Ukrainian Anti-Stroke Association in cooperation with the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, and P.L. Shupyk National Academy of Postgraduate Education.
The Congress brought together medical experts to discuss current issues associated with stroke in Ukraine: how to improve medical aid for stroke and implement national anti-stroke strategies in our country. According to the Ukrainian Anti-Stroke Association, stroke is the second leading cause of death around the world. Every year, more than 16 million people worldwide suffer a stroke and nearly 6 million die. In Ukraine, stroke hits 100,000 to 120,000 people every year. High morbidity rate (35%) is reported in the active working age group.
Plenary sessions, lectures, scientific symposia, discussions, schools, workshop sessions and professional trainings were held as a part of the Congress.
Prof T.S. Mischenko, Chief Neurologist of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, presented her speech “First Aid for Stroke in Ukraine and International Practice. Vascular Dementia Associated with Ischemic Stroke. Clinical Use of Thiocetam.”
In addition, N. Polischuk, President of the Ukrainian Anti-Stroke Association, expressed his healthful gratitude to Arterium Corporation for fruitful cooperation in fighting strokes in Ukraine.
