Arterium joined in equipping evacuation railcars with medicines

The company has begun cooperation with KOLO Charitable Foundation, which oversees the “Mobile Evacuation of the Wounded” project. As part of the cooperation, Arterium donated the medicines necessary to stabilize the condition of the wounded.

The creation of medical railcars, reconstructed from the old ones, began in the spring of 2022, through the joint efforts of Ukrzaliznytsia and the Medical Forces Command, with the help of KOLO Charitable Foundation.

There are two types of railcars in which the wounded are regularly evacuated. There are 10 beds in railcars for the wounded of medium severity. There are also intensive care railcars with 5 beds with oxygen concentrators, ventilators, absorbers and infusion machines. The railway cars are equipped with new generation equipment and are completely autonomous owing to the generator power supply.

“Evacuation railcars are an extremely important project that provides not only transportation, but also continuous treatment of the wounded. A railcar can carry out evacuation only when it is 100 percent equipped with medical equipment, medicines, and doctors. Although this project is funded at the state level, unforeseen situations often occur when the need for equipment and medicines is urgent – “for now”, and taking into account bureaucratic subtleties, we will not be able to cover this need soon. In such cases, charitable partners, such as Arterium company, come to the rescue,” noted Iryna Soloshenko, head of the “Mobile Evacuation of the Wounded” project at the KOLO Charitable Foundation.
