Inhalation vapour solution
Combined essential oils phytocomposition for inhalations and topical application. It has antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory and local irritative effects. Vapors of essential oils have long been used as cosmetic, medical and prophylactic agents; they are widely used in the fragrance industry. Vapors of eucalyptus and silver fir essential oils have a pleasant smell and are able to eliminate most of pathogenic microorganisms, including those resistant to disinfectants and antiseptics, e.g., tuberculosis mycobacteria. When applied locally, they irritate nerve receptors, causing reflexive increase in the blood flow and metabolism rate both in the region of action and in the respective reflexogenic zones, and producing a positive effect on their functional performance. This is widely used in the treatment and prophylaxis of nervous and muscular disorders (neuritises, myositises, plexitises, etc.). Peppermint oil has an intensive local anesthetic and anti-inflammatory effect. Essential oils composition is very beneficial for skin hygiene care in seriously ill patients preventing bed sores. Inhalation of eucalyptus and silver fir oils vapors reduces the viscosity of bronchial secretion and facilitates expectoration. Essential oils composition is also able to produce bronchodilatation and has a broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity making it useful for the treatment and prevention of common colds, chronic bronchopulmonary diseases, including in patients with pulmonary tuberculosis, smokers, and individuals with long-term exposure to dust, as well as improve the drainage function of the lungs and facilitate expectoration. When applied to the wings of the nose, the nasolabial fold or directly onto the nasal mucosa, essential oils may relieve nasal congestion, while inhalation of their vapors and improved blood circulation may enhance body’s resistance to respiratory pathogens.
