First ukrainian diabetes online school launches video course for patients

On this year’s World Diabetes Day, Arterium Corporation’s first Ukrainian Diabetes Online School launched a free video course for type-2 diabetes patients. The course is presented by Cand. Sc. Med., a teaching fellow at the Diabetology Department of P. L. Shupyk National Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education, a practising endocrinologist and dietitian Olha Orlyk and a psychologist, psychotherapist, and a member of the Society of Gestalt Psychotherapy Practitioners Olha Vovcherenko. Titled Living a Full Life with Diabetes, the course is organised in a video tutorial format and covers the following topics:
- Nutrition for diabetes patients
- Self-control and emotional control
- Complication types, causes, and prevention
- Emotional health for diabetes patients
- Sports for diabetes patients
This video course is designed for people suffering from diabetes, as well as those in the risk group. You can watch the lessons on your PC and mobile devices. Having completed the course, you will be able to ask qualified experts the right questions to learn more about the condition and its risk factors, and get practical advice on the treatment, nutrition, exercise, etc. free of charge.
Diabetes Online School is a part of Do It Now, an all-Ukrainian diabetes prevention project initiated by Arterium Corporation. Over the first year of its existence, the Diabetes Online School got 30,000 visitors from Ukraine, and now it is visited by almost 2,000 people.
Over 425 million people are living with diabetes worldwide, 1.2 million of which are Ukrainian residents.
